A year ago sixteen young comrader were arrested in your country, Includ Ing Peur T/bl and the West Berlin stu dent Sibylle Plogstedt, They have been kept in prison since that time. The official press in your country has aecused them of being members of the "Revoludonary Socialiet Party" and of undermining the collectivist social order by their activity.

An attempt wea made in the Czechosloval press at the time to impule a criminal character to the activity of these comrades, to blame them for aels of sabotage, and create the impression that they were working for "Toreign verviees." Por example, in an article in Rude Provo of January 17, 1970, Ibe attempt was made, among other things, 10 besmirch these com. rades earnest efforts to discuss social probleme and contradictions on the beals of Marxiet and Leainial theory:

By ible we are not appealing foe ism.

We have read the publications of the Revolutionary Socialist party. Accord ing to all we have been able to find out about this group, it is alanderour to accuse these young comrader of counterrevolutionary activity Even though we do not fully agree with their views, we belleve that these views must be open to poblic discussion in a so cialet country. ingr In our opinion these young Creebo slovak comender exprese a correc point of view in two aspect important for all commsusiets:

1. In their progrem they propazen dized for an orgenizadon of the working people and above all the proletari ef at the base, that is, at the polat of Inmediale production. And they were rundy lo strugale to five a contraileed expression to there bodies. In thie they took a position in the beat traditions of the great Celober socielist Coates revolution. Rome:
