This conference calls upon the Labour Government to repeal the 1968 and 19/1 Immigration Acis and al legislation that discriminates against immigrants and obstructs their integration into the trade union and labour movement. Conference reaftirms its opposition to racialism in any form and recognises that the National Front and other right wing groups are playing a key role in the propagation of racialist ideas. However it recognises that a legal ban would not have a lasting erfect.

Conference condemns the racialist propaganda emanating from the press and television and condemns the implicit racial statements made members of the Parliamentary Labour Party which in demanding an end to all immigration have credence to the racialists, and resolves to campaign vigorously local ana папопа Dasis working people that our immigrant community are not to blame for the unemployment problem and housing difficulties.

This leads to low wages and bad working conditions. The TUC call for the ending of work permits in the catering industry for this reason. But they should be unionising these workers and fighting for BECAUSE they sanction the power of the midnight knock over thousands of These police powers must be ended with the repeal of the BECAUSE they put the blame for the shortage of housing, jobs and adequate There were the same problems in the Thirties, but there was no immigration then. The root cause is the crisis of capitalist production and the way that the Labour Government seeks to put the cost of that crisis on the shoulders of the working class - black people in particular. Immigration is caused by the impoverishment of countries by the Immigration controls divide the fight against the ruling class offensive and LABOUR'S CONFERENCE POLICY the threat of racialism once and for all requires an end to the system that creates and the system will use immigrant workers as scapegoats for its inadea uacies.
